Group Class Trainer

Position Summary:
Brook Hollow is looking to add a Part-Time Group Class Trainer to its Wellness Center. Through education, motivation, and leadership, the Group Class Trainer will assist members and guests in establishing and reaching their fitness/wellness goals. The instructor contributes to the overall success of the Wellness Center by embodying the mission, vision and values of the Club. This position is part-time or based on the number of sessions scheduled per week.
Position Responsibilities:
Schedule and teach yoga and tread fit.
Provides guidance in proper exercise technique and variations of exercises to meet goals
Assists member-clients in establishing effective fitness/wellness goals and develops the most effective training plan to achieve those goals
Contributes to self-marketing strategies
Offers accurate and up-to-date information and advice on fitness
Motivates Members and maintains a professional relationship
Maintains a safe and clean exercise environment within the Fitness Center
Follows all quality assurance and other policies and procedures of the Fitness Center
Maintains all required certifications
Adjust schedule as needed to accommodate the needs of new existing member-clients
Update and review client files; prepare for upcoming workouts and proactively schedule client re-assessments
Attend & participate in all staff and individual development meetings; including continuing education and training sessions
Serve as a knowledgeable and responsible information source to all clients
Works effectively with co-workers, often communicating with massage therapists to help assist with client’s functional improvement
Reports any equipment/facility problems to the management team
Begins and ends all sessions on time
Qualification Standards:
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Nationally recognized personal training certification is required
CPR, AED and First Aid certification required
Two years of personal training and program design experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Experience with Pilates reformer and Cadillac is a plus
Key Competencies:
Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, kinesiology and anatomy
Full understanding of all exercise equipment and proper operations
Knowledge of injury prevention and rehabilitation
Good communication skills and ability to instruct and teach
Sport specific knowledge a plus
Must be able to think independently and develop programs for specific exercise and member/guests needs
Must be able to keep confidences and practice discernment
Must be able to build rapport with members or guests
Excellent customer service skills and work ethic
Professional, discrete, and well organized
Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational
Physical Demands:
Job requires standing for long periods of time, and demonstration of proper exercise technique,
Background check and drug test required.
