About the Role
St. John Vianney High School has an opportunity for a Head Golf Coach. This is a key role that is responsible for upholding Vianney’s Catholic Marianist mission, leading all aspects of the Golf Program. The Head Golf Coach must provide leadership to uphold the program's legacy that fits with the academic and character development focus of the school. The right candidate will have a history in coaching a successful program, a focus on character development, and understand the connection between athletics and academics. This position reports to the Athletic Director.
This position will create a strategy for a successful program; assist each student athlete in developing a high level of skill; develop a team appreciation for discipline and sportsmanship; and develop and supervise assistant coaches. Other duties include:
Proper instruction for students/athletes in sportsmanship, fundamental skills, techniques, safety procedures and rules necessary to successfully compete in the program.
Coordinate, schedule, and communicate all aspects of the program for students, Vianney families, and assistant coaches.
Understand and follow all MSHSAA, Metro Catholic Conference and Vianney policies as they relate to the program.
Support and coordinate team faith formation activities including prayer, communion services, masses and a team service project.
Ensure the safety and supervision of student athletes.
Coordinate in conjunction with the Director of Athletics all practices, games, and team travel.
Develop and maintain quality professional relationships with students, parents, alumni, officials, fans, peers, volunteers, and the media.
Promote the program both internally and externally through social media, relationship building, community outreach, up-to-date information, and support to Vianney families.
Assist college-bound student/athletes in the recruitment and selection process.

Demonstration of successful coaching experience
Interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Knowledge of coaching methods, high school swim regulations, and sports rules
St. John Vianney High School is a private, all-male college preparatory school in the Catholic, Marianist tradition. Located on 37-acres in Kirkwood, Missouri, Vianney serves over 560 young men in grades 9-12. The campus includes a stadium, a turfed baseball/athletic complex, and newly renovated locker and weight rooms. Vianney is a member of the Metro Catholic Conference (MCC).
