About the Role
POSITION OVERVIEW The Operations Lead is the senior on-site team member responsible for daily operations at Forged Golf Club. This role combines front-of-house guest experience leadership with hands-on responsibility for BYOB compliance, league administration, and facility oversight. The Lead serves as the primary liaison between ownership and staff and is accountable for ensuring every guest interaction reflects the Forged standard of hospitality.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Open and close the facility daily, including alarm systems, lighting, HVAC, and simulator startup/shutdown sequences
Serve as primary point of contact for all guest interactions and issue resolution
Manage daily point-of-sale transactions, and end-of-day reconciliation
Coordinate and administer league operations including scheduling, scoring, player communications, standings, and event logistics
Oversee BYOB compliance: verify guest age (21+), monitor alcohol consumption, enforce facility alcohol policy, and manage incident documentation
Train and supervise other operations staff on all operational procedures
Conduct opening and closing checklists and submit daily operational reports to ownership
Manage the booking system and reservation confirmations
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed (cleaning supplies, equipment maintenance, etc.)
BYOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES
Verify government-issued photo ID for all guests bringing alcoholic beverages
Monitor consumption levels and intervene when guests show signs of intoxication
Enforce designated consumption areas and no-service-of-alcohol policies
Maintain BYOB incident log and refusal-of-entry documentation
Ensure all BYOB signage is visible, current, and compliant with facility policy
LEAGUE MANAGEMENT DUTIES
Set up league structures including team assignments, handicaps, schedules, and rules
Operate scoring software and publish weekly standings
Communicate with league members via email or app notifications
Organize league nights, playoffs, and special events
Collect league fees and manage league accounts
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid Illinois BASSET certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
1–2 years of experience in recreation, hospitality, or entertainment facility management preferred
Knowledge of golf or golf simulator technology preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
COMPENSATION BASIS The compensation range of $22.00 – $25.00/hour reflects above the 2025–2026 market data for golf simulator and recreation facility lead positions in the Arlington Heights / Chicago suburban area. Illinois’ minimum wage is $15.00/hour effective January 1, 2025.
