Banquet Operations Manager

The Banquets Operations Manager is responsible for the execution of all banquet and special event operations, ensuring exceptional service, seamless coordination, and consistently high-quality Member and guest experience. This role serves as the operational bridge between Catering, Culinary, and Service teams. This position is highly hands-on and requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment. JOB TYPE: Full-Time REPORTS TO: Catering Manager Schedule: Flexible, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event needs Primary Responsibilities Oversee day-of execution for all banquet events, including weddings, member events, meetings, and large-scale club functionsReview BEOs for accuracy and clarity; conduct pre-event meetings with service, culinary, and setup teamsEnsure event spaces are properly set, staged, and maintained to Club standards in partnership with the banquet housemen or set up staff Act as the on-site point of contact during events to manage timing, flow, and service recovery as neededLead, train, and supervise banquet service staff, including captains/supervisors, servers, bartenders, and support staffAssist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management of banquet staffSet clear expectations for service standards, professionalism, and teamworkCoach and develop team members to support retention and service excellenceDeliver a polished, anticipatory service experience aligned with the Club's hospitality standardsProactively address guest needs, resolve concerns in real time, and follow up as appropriateWork closely with Catering Manager, Event Coordinator, Culinary, Facilities, Golf and Racquets teams to ensure alignment and executionCommunicate staffing needs, operational challenges, and post-event feedback to Catering ManagerParticipate in post-event reviews to identify opportunities for improvementMonitor labor usage and staffing efficiency in alignment with budgeted goalsAssist with inventory control for banquet equipment, china, glassware, and linensEnsure compliance with safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and labor regulations Key Competencies & Expectations Demonstrates reliability, strong communication, and sound judgment.Models ONEAGC values: Respect, Honesty, Accountability, Quality, Passion, and Teamwork.Upholds Club standards of service, professionalism, and member/guest experience.Takes initiative and contributes positively to team culture.Proven experience leading service teams and executing complex eventsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of BEOs, event timelines, and service standardsFollows policy and exhibits maturity and professionalism.Ability to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift to 50 pounds assisted Work is performed in event spaces, kitchens, and service areas Essential Requirements Must be at least 18 years oldHigh School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to work early morning and weekends as requiredRegular and predictable attendance Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree Hospitality Management, or related field preferred. 3 years of Banquet, Event or hospitality experience preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of professionalism, service knowledge, and event operations experience.Strong customer service mindset with a passion for helping others. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. SALARY: Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
