About the Role
Position Summary
The First Assistant Golf Professional is the operational leader of the Golf Department and serves as the primary liaison between the Director of Golf and the professional staff. This position is responsible for leading the daily golf operation, managing staff, executing member events and tournaments, overseeing golf shop administration, and ensuring every aspect of the golf experience reflects the standards of Miakka Golf Club.
The First Assistant Golf Professional is expected to have ambition to be a Head Professional and lead by example, develop team members, and consistently deliver an exceptional member experience while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilitie
sLeadership & Staff Managemen
tSupervise, mentor, and develop Assistant Golf Professionals and seasonal golf staff.Assist with onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.Conduct team meetings and communicate club priorities, service standards, and operational expectations.Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.Lead the golf operation in the absence of the Director of Golf.Daily Golf Operation
sOversee all daily golf operations to ensure an exceptional member and guest experience.Manage tee sheets, reservations, starting procedures, pace of play, and player flow.Coordinate daily operations with Outside Services, Caddie Services, Practice Facilities, and Food & Beverage.Ensure opening and closing procedures are consistently completed.Resolve member concerns promptly and professionally.Golf Shop Administratio
nOversee daily golf shop operations and maintain exceptional presentation standards.Manage retail inventory, merchandising, special orders, and office supplies.Ensure accurate point-of-sale transactions, cash reconciliation, and daily reporting.Maintain organized operational records and departmental documentation.Operational Standards & Reportin
gEnsure all daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal operational procedures are completed accurately.Maintain and improve departmental standard operating procedures.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.Monitor pace of play, utilization, staffing levels, and departmental performance metrics.Maintain compliance with club policies and service standards.Tournament & Event Managemen
tPlan, organize, and conduct all member tournaments, club championships, member-guest events, leagues, and special golf events.Oversee tournament preparation including pairings, scorecards, cart staging, scoring, rules administration, awards, and event logistics.Coordinate event execution with all club departments to provide a seamless member experience.Financial Administratio

sPGA Class A Member preferred.Minimum of 3–5 years of experience at a high-end private club, resort, or Top 100 facility.Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with Club Essentials, Golf Genius, and Microsoft Office.Ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.Compensation & Benefit
