About the position The Golf Club at Lansdowne is looking for a Full-Time Greenskeeper II. This important position plays an essential role in creating and maintaining high-quality playing conditions which are pivotal for both the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the golf course and contributes significantly to the longevity and ecological balance of golf environments, reflecting their critical importance in the field of golf course management. Managed by Troon Golf, the Golf Club at Lansdowne offers 45-holes of championship golf created by world-renowned course designers Robert Trent Jones and Greg Norman. General Purpose: Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required. Responsibilities • Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment. • Rakes and maintains sand bunkers. • Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing. • Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material. • Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up). • Operates walking equipment in mowing greens collars and tees. • Assists with fertilizer applications on tees, fairways and rough areas. • Operates riding equipment in mowing fairways, approaches and rough. • Operates sod cutter, trencher and tamper for routine projects. • Operates dump truck and tractors for hauling purposes. • Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up). • Assists with golf course set-up procedures. • Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris. • Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.). • Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas. • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. • Regular and reliable attendance. • Performs other duties as required. Requirements • Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Valid Driver’s License • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
