Position Summary
The Membership Director is responsible for driving membership growth and retention by developing relationships with prospective members, guiding them through the membership sales process, and creating a welcoming experience that supports long-term engagement.
This highly visible role serves as an ambassador for the club and works closely with club leadership to promote the club's amenities, programming, and lifestyle offerings. The ideal candidate is energetic, relationship-driven, goal-oriented, and passionate about hospitality and private club experiences.
Essential Responsibilities
Membership Sales & Growth
Generate new membership leads through networking, referrals, prospecting, community involvement, and club eventsConduct club tours and effectively present the value and benefits of membershipManage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through membership enrollmentMaintain accurate prospect records and sales activity within CRM systemsConsistently achieve individual membership sales goals and revenue objectivesDevelop and execute membership marketing and outreach initiatives in partnership with club leadership and corporate marketingMember Engagement & Retention
Serve as a welcoming point of contact for prospective and new membersSupport new member onboarding and orientation effortsFoster strong relationships with members to encourage engagement and referralsAssist with member events, networking opportunities, and club programmingWork collaboratively with department leaders to ensure an exceptional member experienceClub & Community Representation
Represent the club at community events, networking functions, and local business organizationsBuild relationships with real estate professionals, local businesses, and community partnersPromote the club's golf, dining, fitness, racquet sports, aquatics, and social offerings to prospective membersServe as a brand ambassador for both The Palisades Country Club and Heritage Golf GroupAdministrative Responsibilities
Prepare membership reports, forecasts, and sales updates for club leadershipMaintain membership agreements and related documentationTrack sales performance, lead conversion activity, and retention metricsAssist with membership communications and promotional initiatives
Qualifications
3+ years of sales, membership, hospitality, business development, or related experiencePrivate club, golf, hospitality, luxury service, or lifestyle sales experience preferredProven track record of achieving sales goals and building client relationshipsStrong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systemsAbility to work evenings, weekends, and club events as needed
