About the Role
The Fairview Dining Room at Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club is seeking a dependable and service-minded Wait Assistant to support our dining room team. This position plays an important role in creating a polished, welcoming, and efficient dining experience for our guests.
The Wait Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the dining room while assisting servers and culinary team members throughout service. The ideal candidate is attentive, team-oriented, and committed to supporting the high standards of hospitality expected in the Fairview Dining Room.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clear tables promptly and efficiently, removing dishes, glassware, utensils, and other items after guest use.
Clean, sanitize, and reset tables according to Fairview Dining Room service standards.
Assist servers with water service, bread service, table maintenance, and other guest needs throughout the dining experience.
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining room, service stations, and surrounding areas.
Sweep floors, wipe surfaces, restock supplies, and ensure all guest-facing areas remain neat, organized, and presentable.
Support the setup and breakdown of dining areas for regular service, special events, and large parties.
Communicate and collaborate with servers, culinary team members, and managers to ensure timely and efficient service.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Report maintenance, safety, or repair concerns to management promptly.
Provide courteous, professional, and attentive service to guests and team members.

Preferred Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting preferred, but not required.
Experience working in a fast-paced service environment is helpful.
