Assistant Golf Professional - Bethesda Country Club

Job Responsibilities: • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the facility and the Golf Operations Department • Assist the Head Golf Professional and other Professionals in managing the daily golf operation • Control and manage daily play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection is correct • Interfaces with the Professional Staff and other departments to communicate daily activities, golf promotions, and special events taking place and to ensure the integration of those service functions meet the members expectations • Fully learn, interpret and enforce all golf rules and policies i.e. Pace of Play, Dress Code, Guest Frequency, etc. • Assist in conducting the club’s tournament program which includes all scheduling, organizing, coordinating tournaments, leagues and all golf events • Maintain detailed files on all club tournaments and events • Provide golf instruction and conduct clinics; Attend teaching seminars to increase your understanding of the golf swing and improve teaching ability • Assist with the merchandising decisions and imputing all invoices are coded correctly in a timely manner • Assist in monthly inventory controls set by club management • Play golf with Members of all skill-levels to generate enthusiasm and interest in the game of golf • Attend sectional conferences/meetings, merchandise shows, educational and professional seminars to encourage development; Observe best practices and enhance the quality and image of the Club • Perform club fittings and basic club repair for the membership • Positively reflect through personal appearance and behavior the culture and traditions of the Club as defined by the Head Golf Professional and Board of Directors • Any and all other duties as assigned by Head Golf Professional and/or General Manager Bethesda Country Club has made significant investments in recent years and just completed an impressive long-range capital improvement plan focused on enhancing the entire Club property and member experience. The Club’s superb golf facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course featuring renovated greens, tee boxes, and bunkers. A state-of-the-art, four-bay indoor Learning Center provides year-round opportunities for instruction, player development, and programming. The driving range is equipped with TrackMan Range technology, and the Club also offers a dedicated short-game practice facility for its membership. The Golf Program is highly active and supports a strong culture and passion for women’s, men’s, senior, and especially junior golf. Bethesda Country Club has had the privilege of hosting numerous prestigious local, junior, and national events throughout its history. Among these is the annual Bubby Worsham Memorial Junior Championship, whose inaugural champion was legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. The Golf Professional Shop is recognized throughout the Middle Atlantic region as one of the leading and most robust golf retail operations in the area. The Club prides itself on providing its members with a premier merchandise program that reflects the expectations and needs of its family-oriented membership. The Golf Shop generates more than $1 million in annual sales on average and was completely renovated in 2022, introducing a fresh, modern retail environment.
