About the Role
Overview Boston Parks & Recreation’s youth recreation series and events enhance life quality and economic balance by offering convenient, free, high-quality instructional programs and team-building activities to underserved and economically disadvantaged communities. These programs serve various demographics, including at-risk youth and children from families who cannot afford summer sports camps, leagues, or sports-specific programs. By providing these opportunities, the events and programs play a crucial role in bringing safe and enriching activities to parks in densely populated areas. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assume responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the Golf Course – Ensure the course is well-maintained, clean, and in playable condition. Maintain an inventory of equipment and materials – Regularly check and track the availability of maintenance tools and supplies, ensuring proper storage and upkeep of equipment. Establish a working relationship with Golf Course Staff – Collaborate effectively with staff to maintain the daily operations of the course. Have detailed knowledge of the course – Familiarize yourself with the course layout, hazards, tee boxes, and green conditions. Assist with Junior Golf Programs – Support and mentor young golfers by helping with instruction, organizing events, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. Forecaddie – Assist players on the course, helping to locate golf balls, provide guidance, and improve the overall golfing experience. The Ideal Candidate for this Job Job Requirements: Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods during the summer months. Must be able to stand for long durations – Comfortable standing, walking, and performing duties throughout the day. Assist with children at the Golf Programs – Willingness to engage with and support junior golfers. Must be able to follow instructions and direction – Ability to take direction from supervisors, golf course staff, and program directors, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
