Position Overview

Ames Golf & Country Club is seeking a professional and service-driven Server/Bartender to deliver exceptional dining and beverage service in an upscale, private club environment. This dual-role position requires a hospitality professional who values consistency, discretion, and personalized service while upholding the traditions and standards of a member-focused club.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide elevated food and beverage service to club members and their guestsServe as both a dining room server and bartender based on operational needsPrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with club standardsTake accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely, polished serviceDemonstrate thorough knowledge of menus, daily specials, wines, spirits, and classic cocktailsAnticipate member preferences and deliver personalized, attentive serviceMaintain a professional demeanor and uphold private club service etiquetteEnsure responsible alcohol service in compliance with state laws and club policiesAccurately process orders, payments, and member charges using the POS systemMaintain cleanliness and organization of dining and bar areas at all timesAssist with service for banquets, tournaments, and special club eventsCollaborate effectively with culinary staff, servers, bartenders, and management

Requirements

Prior serving and bartending experience required; private club or fine dining experience strongly preferredKnowledge of classic cocktails, wine service, and formal dining standardsExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsPolished appearance, professionalism, and discretionAbility to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-service environmentDependable, punctual, and team-orientedAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbsMust meet state age requirements for alcohol service
