Additionally, the position requires some gardening duties, such as planting and trimming trees and flowers, necessary for overall landscape presentation. An understanding and ability to assist in irrigation system repair and installation are also part of this job, reflecting the technical aspects involved in golf course maintenance.
The candidate must be prepared to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, overtime, and occasional schedule changes on short notice. Attendance and punctuality are crucial to maintaining seamless operations. The environment is challenging, as work is conducted outdoors under varying weather conditions and may involve exposure to noise, machinery, chemicals like fertilizers and pesticides, and physically demanding activities such as lifting heavy objects up to and beyond 50 pounds. This physical aspect requires the ability to balance, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, and use hands effectively in various capacities.
Communicating effectively in English with colleagues, supervisors, and the public is essential, particularly regarding business and safety information. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of related experience in landscape or golf course maintenance and must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving record for insurance purposes. There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role; however, a team-oriented mindset is beneficial.
