Golf Equipment Manager (Mechanic) | Useless Bay Golf and Country Club
Useless Bay Golf & Country Club is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Golf Equipment Manager (Mechanic) to oversee the maintenance, repair, and performance of all golf course equipment. This leadership role is essential in delivering the championship-level course conditions expected at a premier private club. The Equipment Manager works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and maintenance team to ensure all equipment is safe, efficient, and maintained to the highest standard.

What Success Looks Like:
Your Impact
Inspect, diagnose, and repair all golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, small engines, and specialty turf equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and maintain detailed service records for all equipment
Establish and implement a preventative maintenance program
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized equipment shop
Manage parts inventory, order supplies, and control maintenance costs
Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and regulatory requirements
Train and support staff on proper equipment use and care
Assist in evaluating equipment needs and recommending purchases or replacements
Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs or warranty work
Maintain fuel systems, grinders, reels, and bed knives to ensure optimal turf performance
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance (golf course or turf equipment preferred)
Willingness and ability to support Greens crew with mower operational support highly desired
Willingness and ability to operate heavy equipment (Skid Steer/Fairway Mower/Top Dresser/Aerator, etc) highly desired
Strong knowledge of small engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines
Experience with reel and rotary mower setup and sharpening
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues efficiently
Basic computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Good communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
May involve lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working with tools and machinery
