About the Role

Founded in 1922 on 272 acres south of Denver, Colorado, Cherry Hills Country Club is one of America’s most historic and distinguished golf clubs. Designed by renowned golf course architect William Flynn, the course has earned a prominent place in the history of the game.

In 1938, Cherry Hills hosted the U.S. Open, marking the first time the championship was played west of the Mississippi River. Since then, the Club has hosted 14 national championships, most recently the 2023 U.S. Amateur. Cherry Hills is also the site of one of the most iconic moments in golf history. In the final round of the 1960 U.S. Open, Arnold Palmer drove the first green and made birdie on his way to a memorable round of 65 and victory. Cherry Hills is also the only golf course outside Augusta National where both Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus won a major championship.

Cherry Hills Country Club is seeking an experienced, service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional to join its accomplished golf operations team. Reporting to the Director of Golf, Bryan Nicholson, the successful candidate will contribute to the daily management and continued development of the golf operation while delivering an exceptional experience for members and guests.

The ideal candidate brings energy, initiative, sound judgment, and a genuine servant-leadership mentality. This individual will demonstrate a passion for the game, a commitment to growing participation in golf, and a desire to develop professionally within a high-performing team. The golf operation includes a Head Golf Professional, five Assistant Golf Professionals, a Director of Instruction, a Director of Retail, a Caddie Manager, and Assistants in Training (AITs).

Success in this role requires an engaging personality, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to service. The Assistant Golf Professional must anticipate member needs, take ownership of responsibilities, collaborate effectively, and consistently uphold the Club’s standards of professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence.
