Restaurant Manager
Toomey Grill – Huntingdon Valley Country Club
Huntingdon Valley Country Club is seeking a polished, experienced, and service-driven professional to join our team as Restaurant Manager at the Toomey Grill. This leadership role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a passion for exceptional service, food and wine knowledge, and creating memorable dining experiences for our membership.
The successful candidate will be personable, energetic, and highly motivated, with the ability to remain organized and thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Actively manage daily restaurant operations, providing continuous direction to front-of-house staff and ensuring consistent service standards.
· Lead daily pre-shift (line-up) meetings to communicate special events, policies, and service expectations.
· Schedule personnel and plan dining room setups based on anticipated guest counts and member needs.
· Ensure scheduled staff are present, properly trained, knowledgeable of daily responsibilities, and performing in accordance with established standards.
· Inspect staff to ensure proper grooming and clean, professional uniforms at all times.
· Greet, seat, and engage with members and guests, maintaining a strong and visible management presence on the floor.
· Deliver an outstanding service attitude, going above and beyond to exceed member expectations.
· Address and resolve member concerns regarding food, beverages, or service promptly and professionally.
· Serve as a liaison between the dining room and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
· Monitor dining room labor and supply budgets, making adjustments as needed to meet financial goals.
· Assist with monthly inventory and ordering while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
· Ensure all opening and closing duties are completed equitably, accurately, and on time.
· Develop creative and engaging ways to promote club dining events and functions.
· Lead the development and promotion of the club’s wine program, including wine selection and ordering, staff training, wine promotions, and the execution of wine dinners, tastings, and special events.
Job Requirements
· Prior management experience in food and beverage operations required; fine dining experience strongly preferred.
· Proficiency with POS systems (Jonas preferred) and general computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Strong bartending knowledge and skills.
· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
· Commitment to delivering exceptional member service.
· Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the Club and its Members.
· Proven time management skills with the ability to delegate and prioritize multiple tasks.
· Professional appearance appropriate for a country club environment.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
· Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for extended periods, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
