About the Role
The Golf Pro Shop Host will greet and encourage purchases of merchandise in the Golf Retail Shop. This position will create an exciting atmosphere for our guests to be comfortable in their purchase selections. The Golf Pro Shop host will also assist the guest in making tee time reservations, lesson bookings, tournament procedures, etc.
Essential Functions:
Provide exceptional guest service to all customers.
Show the customer around the store and inform them of the merchandise we stock
Be on the sales floor on time.
Your uniform is clean and pressed following all other guidelines of the employee handbook.
The associate is expected to do a walk through of the shop to reacquaint themselves with changes and arrival of new merchandise
Employees are expected to develop their product knowledge on a daily basis.
All breaks and lunchtime breaks must be coordinated with other employees and approved by a supervisor.
The phone must be answered properly
All guests must be greeted in a timely and polite manner upon entering the shop.
If the guest has already been greeted by another associate and has proceeded to look throughout the boutique, acknowledge them by making eye contact and smiling.
While assisting each guest, associates are required to suggest add on sales.
While assisting a guest in the fitting room, the guests must never have to come out to assist themselves.
Be aware of apparel add on sales when guests are in the fitting rooms.
One associate must be on the sales floor at all times.
Standing behind the desk area is only for when you need to for working purposes.
No sitting in a chair, reading the newspaper or other personal matters should be done on work time.
Make notes of customer requests for merchandise on customer request forms.
In giving cash back, count from amount of sale to the amount given.
Listen for the guest to be addressed by name while in the Golf Shop. Then proceed to address the guest by name throughout the sales process.
At the end of the transaction with each guest, while addressing them by name, thank them for stopping in, and hand them their purchase.
Last but not least…….CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALWAYS #1
Reserve tee-times, collect green fees, reserve lessons, collect lesson fees.
Handle special orders, receive merchandise in, tag merchandise, inventory the merchandise, gift wrapping.
Meets company attendance policy
May be required to work days, nights, and weekends.

Required:
Welcome all guests with the appropriate greeting when entering the golf shop, as well as make eye contact thereafter. Develop product knowledge to share with guests, and encourage additional purchases. Ensures displays and sales tables appearance are up to company standards. Reserve tee-times and lessons, and collect payment. Verify starting times, direct guests to cart and practice tee area. Ensure correct change is given using cash register and computer. Develops relationships with customers to assure returning customer base. Assist guests using fitting rooms, offering to exchange items as needed. Maintain confidentiality of all data, including, but not limited to customer and company records. Maintain a professional working relationship with other Pro Shop Hosts and supervisors. Complies with all IRGC regulations and any local, state or federal guidelines. Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record. Ability to work assigned shifts, weekends and holidays. Other duties as assigned.
