This position is responsible for completing projects and day‐to‐day grounds maintenance and labor duties on the outdoor areas of the golf grounds. Pay & Schedule:
$18.15 - $19.26 Per Hour (DOQ)
This is a Seasonal, non-exempt position, Monday-Friday 5am-1pm Saturday or Sunday 5am-8am
Duties & Responsibilities:
Effectively performs routine golf course maintenance activities such as coarse setup, bunker maintenance, watering, and general grounds maintenance.
Willingly works with other seasonal staff on maintenance tasks.
Competently operates equipment and hand tools in the maintenance of the golf course.
Routinely inspects course grounds for the identification of weeds, diseases, and insects.
Correctly adheres to Park District policies and procedures.
Arrives to work on time, fully ready to start work for the duration of the workday.
Successfully passes all safety training requirements and testing before operating any tools or safety equipment as required.
Meticulously signs out and returns all tools, materials, and equipment to the proper location; reports necessary maintenance repairs or potential hazards to the Crew Leader and the Golf Maintenance Supervisor.
Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.
Follows safe work practices; wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing duties.
Actively participates in required trainings.
Performs related duties as assigned.

QualificationsMust be 16 years of age or older and should have a general familiarity of golf or general grounds maintenance or a related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability, and skills.
Skills & Abilities
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Maintain satisfactory working relationship with Park District personnel and the general public and serve as a lead worker to seasonal staff.
Operate equipment and tools used in maintenance assignments and follow adequate safety precautions.
Work overtime and weekends when necessary
Knowledge
Occupational hazards and safety procedures and precautions
General maintenance and repair procedures
