DIRECTOR OF TENNISMONTAMMY GOLF CLUB ALPINE, NEW JERSEY Montammy Golf Club is seeking a highly visible, service-oriented Director of Tennis to lead and elevate the Club's tennis program and racquet sports experience. This leadership position is responsible for the overall direction, daily operations, programming, instruction, staff leadership, and member engagement within the tennis department. The Director of Tennis serves as an on-court leader, mentor, and ambassador for Montammy Golf Club, delivering exceptional instruction, maintaining facilities to the highest standards, and inspiring members to participate in racquet sports year-round. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a hands-on leadership environment and is passionate about building strong relationships within a premier private club setting. The Club operates on a 10-month seasonal schedule, providing the opportunity to offer lessons externally during the winter months. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Staff ManagementRecruit, train, schedule, mentor, and supervise assistant professionals and seasonal staff. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Foster a welcoming, inclusive, team-oriented workplace culture and maintain high standards of professionalism, safety, and conduct. Be visible and engaged during peak tennis hours, leagues, and club events. Program Development & OperationsDevelop and oversee a full calendar of tennis programming including clinics, leagues, ladders, tournaments, exhibitions, and social events. Lead adult and junior player development programs, coordinate interclub play, and participate in ambassador play to build relationships. Monitor participation and adjust offerings based on member feedback. Facility & Court ManagementOversee the condition, cleanliness, and playability of all tennis courts. Coordinate maintenance with Grounds and Maintenance teams, monitor and enforce court reservation policies, and perform racquet stringing and basic equipment maintenance as needed. Communicate facility and equipment needs promptly. Administrative & FinancialAssist in departmental budgeting and financial oversight. Maintain accurate records for lessons, clinics, leagues, tournaments, and events. Process tennis shop and program charges accurately, contribute content to club newsletters, and collaborate with management to promote programs and events. Member Experience & Club IntegrationFoster a welcoming, inclusive, and service-oriented environment for members and guests. Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries and feedback. Collaborate with other departments to support club-wide events, attend staff and management meetings as required, and represent Montammy Golf Club within professional tennis organizations and regional associations. Candidate QualificationsMinimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in tennis or racquet sports operations. Strong teaching background with experience coaching players of all ages and skill levels. Experience in a private country club or racquet club environment preferred. Playing ability at a collegiate or 5. 0 level or higher preferred. Innovative, forward-thinking approach to programming and member engagement. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
