About the Role
## Overview
The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation is seeking Servers to join our team and provide food and beverage service to club members and guests. ### A day in this role
You will set up your side station, perform assigned prep work, and give immediate attention to members and guests when they are seated. You are expected to help ensure children are in appropriate seats and safe, distribute food and wine menus, answer questions, fill glasses with ice water and suggest menu items. You will efficiently and courteously serve food and drinks, offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections, place orders with the kitchen (noting any special cooking instructions), assemble food on trays, and serve meals course by course.
You will check back for member and guest satisfaction, replenish water and butter, remove soiled dishes, clear tables after each course and reset with appropriate silverware. Presenting dessert menus, suggesting and serving dessert, coffee and after-dinner drinks, verifying accuracy of prices, taxes, tips and other charges, and presenting the bill are all part of the service sequence. Handling member charge and credit card transactions according to standard operating procedures is required.
Keeping the dining room, pool cabana, and bus station areas clean, clearing and resetting vacated tables, advising your supervisor of complaints, and performing clean-up and closing duties as assigned are expected. You may be asked to attend pre-meal meetings called by the Dining Room Manager or other Food & Beverage Manager, and you must turn in a signed tip declaration form as appropriate. Always thank members and guests and invite them to return, and consistently follow local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages.
### Qualifications and expectations
Education and experience:
- Grade 12 education.
- Two years of comparable wait service experience preferred.
- The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills.
Job knowledge and core competencies include:
- Greeting and acknowledging members and guests.
- Being knowledgeable about the menu, buffet and wine list.
- Ability to time the service of each course and learn members’ names and special preferences.
- Knowledge of wines and spirits and the ability to perform your role during emergency situations.
Licenses and special requirements:
- Food safety certification.
- Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Alcoholic beverage certification.
Physical demands and work environment:
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- Work in hot, humid and noisy environment.
### Compensation
Salary Range USD $12.00
- USD $14.00 /Hr.
