Food & Beverage Manager
Reports to: Clubhouse Manager
Supervises: Servers, Cocktail Servers, and Server Assistants
Status: Salary Non-Exempt
The Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible for the oversight and execution of all Food and Beverage Operations. The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will work directly with the Clubhouse Manager and Executive Chef to ensure clear and consistent communications as it pertains to expectations, organization, food costs, labor costs, service, presentation, and overall operation of the clubhouse.
The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will be responsible for managing all Food and Beverage operations and for delivering an excellent hospitality experience for both Members and guests.The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will be able to forecast, plan and manage all F&B orders, staff and finances within the operational budget established by the Board of Governors.
The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will serve as the daily Manager-On-Duty for all aspects of clubhouse and food and beverage operations.
Club Events / Banquets:
The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will oversee all banquet staff for both club and private events from set up to completion and billing. The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will communicate and collaborate with the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, Event Chef, Pastry Chef, and Culinary Team to ensure proper food presentation and event time-line.
A la carte Dining:
The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will oversee all areas of a la carte dining, ensuring an excellent dining experience for Members and guests. The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will communicate and collaborate with the A la carte staff to ensure proper staffing and training. The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will communicate with the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, and Culinary Team to review daily specials, dietary restrictions for Members and guests, as well as any special details or celebrations occurring in the a la carte dining areas.
The Food & Beverage Manager(s) will report to the Clubhouse Manager, assisting in all aspects of clubhouse and food and beverage operations.
The goal is to maximize member satisfaction, sales, and revenue through Member and Guest satisfaction, Team Member engagement, and within the budgetary parameters.
Responsibilities:
Manage all Food and Beverage day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the - highest standards. Preserve excellent levels of Member and guest service. Assist with the design of exceptional menus, purchase goods, and continuously make necessary improvements throughout the club. Identify Member needs and respond proactively to all their concerns. Lead the Food and Beverage team by attracting, recruiting, training and appraising talented personnel. Provide a two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis in motivation and teamwork. Comply with all health and safety regulations. Maintain a positive disposition with Members, Guests, and Team Members. Works effectively with the Clubhouse Manager to provide timely and detailed information regarding monthly operational reporting as it pertains to Food & Beverage Operations. Will complete annual reviews for Servers, Cocktail Servers, and Server Assistants.
Requirements:
Proven food and beverage management experience. Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS). Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently, being preventative rather than curative. Mastery in delegating multiple tasks. Communication and leadership skills. Familiar with up-to-date food and beverages trends and best practices. Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets. Member / guest-oriented and service-minded. The Food & Beverage Managers schedule must be flexible and includes evenings, weekends and holidays. The Food & Beverage Manager is expected to wear professional attire appropriate for the position. Must be actively involved in the CMAA and local PVCMA Chapter.
