About the Role
Position Summary The *Banquet Setup & Service Attendant (formerly referred to as Houseman)* supports Food & Beverage operations by preparing event spaces before functions and returning them to their proper condition after events. This position is responsible for setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, service stations, equipment, and other items needed for Club events and banquets. The position works closely with the Banquet and Food & Beverage teams to ensure events are properly prepared and efficiently serviced. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Set up banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and outdoor event areas according to event specifications and floor plans. - Set and arrange tables, chairs, linens, service stations, bars, and other banquet equipment. - Move and position tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently. - Break down event spaces following the conclusion of events. - Return furniture, equipment, and supplies to designated storage areas. - Assist with the setup and breakdown of buffets, beverage stations, bars, and other food and beverage service areas. - Assist Banquet Servers and other Food & Beverage team members during events as needed. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, service areas, and storage spaces. - Transport supplies, equipment, food, and beverage items as directed. - Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and ready for members and guests. - Follow proper procedures for handling and storing club equipment and supplies. - Follow all safety, sanitation, and club policies and procedures. - Communicate event setup needs, equipment concerns, or other issues to the appropriate supervisor. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Previous banquet, hospitality, food and beverage, event setup, or similar experience preferred but not required. - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and event floor plans. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. - Reliable attendance and punctuality. - Professional and courteous interaction with members, guests, and coworkers. - Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying event schedules. Physical Requirements - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. - Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies. - Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently and/or 50 pounds with assistance or as a team, depending on the item. - Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and maneuver safely in banquet and storage areas. - Ability to safely move equipment and furniture across indoor and outdoor surfaces. Work Environment This position works in banquet rooms, dining areas, outdoor spaces, kitchens, storage areas, and other areas throughout the Club. The position may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, crowded event spaces, and frequent movement of equipment and furniture. Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour Work Location: In person
