About Winchester Golf Club Winchester Golf Club is a well-established 27-hole public golf facility located in Winchester, Indiana, serving golfers throughout East Central Indiana and West Central Ohio. Featuring three distinct nine-hole courses—Beeson, Pony, and Willow—the club combines the friendly atmosphere of small-town golf with the activity and responsibilities of a much larger golf operation. With approximately 30,000 rounds annually, nearly 200 members, multiple weekly golf leagues, and more than 30 outings and tournaments each year, Winchester Golf Club maintains an active golf calendar throughout the season. The facility also features a full-service golf shop, driving range and practice facilities, TrackMan indoor golf simulator, PGA instruction and club fitting, food concessions, and a strong tournament and outing business. General Responsibilities The PGA Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf will oversee the day-to-day golf operations of Winchester Golf Club and provide professional leadership to ensure an outstanding experience for members, daily-fee players, outing participants, and guests. Primary responsibilities include: Oversee daily golf operations, including the golf shop, tee sheet, cart operations, driving range, practice facilities, and overall flow of play. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and develop golf shop, outside-service, and seasonal staff. Oversee and coordinate food concession staff and work to ensure a positive customer experience throughout the facility. Plan, organize, promote, and execute more than 30 annual golf outings and tournaments, including coordination with outing organizers before and during events. Manage and support the club's golf leagues, member events, club tournaments, junior golf programs, and other organized golf activities. Provide PGA-quality golf instruction, including individual lessons, clinics, junior instruction, and player-development programs. Provide professional club fitting and help develop opportunities to expand instructional and fitting services. Manage golf shop merchandising, including purchasing, inventory control, displays, pricing, promotions, and sales. Develop relationships with golf equipment and apparel vendors and maintain a high-quality merchandise selection appropriate for the club's customers. Provide excellent customer service and develop strong relationships with the club's approximately 200 members, daily-fee golfers, league participants, outing customers, and community organizations. Help develop marketing, promotions, special events, and other initiatives designed to increase rounds, memberships, outings, merchandise sales, and overall golf revenue. Maintain and utilize the club's TrackMan indoor golf simulator for instruction, club fitting, winter programming, leagues, and additional revenue opportunities. Coordinate with the golf course superintendent and maintenance staff regarding course conditions, tournament setup, scheduling, and communication with golfers. Assist ownership/management with budgeting, financial controls, pricing, revenue management, payroll management, and other aspects of the golf operation. Maintain appropriate PGAstandards and continue professional education and development. Represent Winchester Golf Club professionally within the Winchester and Randolph County community and help maintain the club's strong relationships with local businesses, schools, charities, and community organizations. Leadership Expectations The successful candidate should be a visible and approachable leader who enjoys being involved in all aspects of a busy public golf operation. This position requires someone who can balance customer service, staff management, tournament operations, merchandising, instruction, and business responsibilities while creating a welcoming environment for golfers of all ages and ability levels. Most importantly, Winchester Golf Club is looking for a golf professional who will take ownership of the golf operation, build relationships with our customers and community, and help position the club for continued success and growth. Candidates should possess: **PGA Class A Membership preferred **Previous experience as a Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, or Assistant Golf Professional **Strong knowledge of public golf operations **Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills **Leadership and staff management skills **An understanding of the financial and business aspects of running a public golf facility **A willingness to be highly visible and actively engaged with golfers and the community.
