Founded in 1909, Tamarack Country Club is a historic private club in Greenwich, Connecticut, consistently ranked among the top golf courses in the state. Our members expect warm, polished, and personal service, and our beverage program is a key part of that experience. We’re looking for a Lead Bartender to set the tone behind the bar and help us shape what comes next.

The Role

The Lead Bartender oversees daily bar operations and serves as the go-to leader for the bar team during service. Working closely with the F&B Manager, you’ll help build and refine the club’s bar program, including cocktail menus, seasonal offerings, and standards of service that reflect Tamarack’s tradition and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Lead bar service across the clubhouse, events, and member functions, making sure every guest interaction is gracious and professional Work with the F&B Manager to develop the bar program, including signature cocktails, seasonal menus, and presentation standards Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to recipe and club standards Train bartenders and bar staff on recipes, techniques, product knowledge, and service etiquette Set the pace during busy service, delegate tasks, and support the team on the floor Keep the bar organized, stocked, and prepped before and after each shift Help with inventory counts and flag ordering needs to management Uphold all sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol service standards Get to know members’ names and preferences and build lasting relationships with them Support private events, tournaments, and club functions, including setup and breakdown of event bars

Qualifications

2+ years of bartending experience, with leadership experience preferred Background in a private club, fine dining, or upscale hotel preferred Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer Creative, with genuine interest in developing a beverage program Calm under pressure, organized, and detail-oriented Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the club calendar requires TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred, or ability to obtain it Must be 21 years of age or older
