About the Role
Our client, a premier golf resort located in **Houston, Texas, US**, is seeking an experienced and charismatic Director of Golf Operations to oversee all aspects of its prestigious golf facilities. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience for all golfers, managing daily operations, supervising golf staff, and driving revenue growth. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance the resort's golf offerings, attract new members and guests, and maintain the highest standards of course condition and service. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for golf, strong business acumen, and proven leadership capabilities within the golf industry.
Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the golf course, driving range, and golf shop, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for all guests. Develop and implement strategic plans to increase rounds played, F&B sales, pro shop revenue, and tournament participation. Manage, train, and motivate a team of golf professionals, starters, marshals, and shop staff. Develop and manage the annual golf operations budget, controlling expenses and maximizing profitability. Ensure the highest standards of customer service are consistently delivered to all golfers. Oversee the scheduling of tee times, tournaments, and special events. Maintain effective relationships with members, guests, and outside event organizers. Collaborate with the Head Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the impeccable condition of the golf course. Implement and enforce club rules and policies, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in golf operations management. Manage inventory for the golf shop, including apparel, equipment, and accessories, optimizing product mix and sales. Qualifications: PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) certification is highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in golf operations management, with demonstrated success in leadership roles. Proven track record of revenue generation and cost control within a golf facility. Strong understanding of golf course operations, tournament management, and merchandising. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in golf management software and POS systems. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Passion for golf and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service. Strong business acumen and financial management skills. Experience in marketing and sales strategies for golf facilities.
