About the Role
Position Summary:
The Guest Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all outside service operations to ensure an exceptional customer experience for golfers visiting the facility. This role includes supervising the outside service team, managing daily operations, maintaining golf cart and practice facility standards, and supporting the overall service culture of the golf course.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision & Leadership
• Lead, train, and supervise outside service staff including tee hosts, player assistants,
golf car attendants & practice facility staff.
• Create, post, and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage through Sling
• Maintain an adequate payroll budget
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and support.
• Work with the inside golf shop team and management to ensure good organization and
communication
• Ensure staff follow all facility policies, service standards, and safety guidelines.
Customer Service
• Greet and engage guests with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Assist guests with golf bags, carts, directions, and general questions.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Help perform daily duties in the golf shop such as checking in golfers, assisting the retail
operation, managing the tee sheet, etc.
• Uphold a welcoming atmosphere for all players, leagues, and events.
Golf Cart & Equipment Management
• Oversee the preparation, cleanliness, staging, and rotation of golf carts.
• Ensure carts are properly charged, fueled, and maintained.
• Coordinate repairs with the maintenance team or service vendors.
• Maintain supplies such as scorecards, pencils, tees, sand bottles, etc.
• Expectation is to maintain a clean & organized golf car storage facility on a daily basis
• Oversee all golf rental equipment and keep adequate inventory control
Practice Facility & Course Flow
• Oversee setup and maintenance of the practice facility, short-game area, and putting
greens
• Monitor pace of play and communicate with the golf shop when needed.
• Support tournament, outing, and league setup as required.
• Help maintain adequate coverage of the ASU practice facility and their needs
Operational Duties
• Assist with opening and closing procedures for outside operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of bag drop, staging areas, cart barn, and walkways.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed for carts, equipment, and guest interactions.
• Communicate effectively with golf shop, maintenance, and management teams.
• Balance inside and outside time to maintain adequate coverage as needed
Required Qualifications:
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills preferred
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
• Basic knowledge of golf operations and etiquette.
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Availability on weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior golf facility or hospitality experience.
• Experience supervising or training staff.
• Familiarity with public golf course operations.
Work Environment:
• Outdoor, fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
• Exposure to weather including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
• Physical activity including lifting, bending, carrying, and extended standing.
