About the Role
Our client, an exclusive private country club, is seeking a highly accomplished and customer-focused Head Golf Professional to oversee all aspects of golf operations. This is a fully remote position, requiring extensive experience and a passion for golf. You will be responsible for managing the golf shop, coordinating tournaments and events, providing expert instruction, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all members and guests. This role demands strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of golf etiquette and game development.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the daily operations of the golf shop, including inventory management, merchandising, and sales. Develop and execute a comprehensive tournament and event schedule, ensuring smooth and successful execution. Provide high-quality golf instruction and coaching to members and guests of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. Develop and implement golf clinics, leagues, and player development programs. Oversee the club's golf staff, providing training, guidance, and performance management. Ensure adherence to club policies, rules, and regulations, and maintain a high standard of golf etiquette. Manage the club's golf handicapping system and ensure accurate record-keeping. Collaborate with other club departments to enhance the overall member experience. Stay current with trends in golf instruction, equipment, and club operations. Assist in the development and management of the golf budget. Market golf services and programs to members and prospective members. Foster a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all golfers. Required Qualifications: PGA Class A Professional certification or equivalent professional golf association membership. Minimum of 7 years of experience in golf operations, with at least 3 years in a Head Golf Professional or equivalent leadership role. Proven track record of success in golf instruction, player development, and tournament management. Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and equipment. Exceptional customer service and communication skills. Proven leadership and team management abilities. Experience with golf shop management software and POS systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. A passion for the game of golf and a commitment to promoting its enjoyment. Strong business acumen and financial management skills related to golf operations.
