About the position
This internship provides aspiring future golf industry professionals with hands-on experience in Section operations and Junior Golf programming. Interns will work alongside Northern Texas PGA staff, PGA of America Golf Professionals, host facilities, and industry partners throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Through this experience, interns will learn how a PGA Section supports the game at the local level while building meaningful connections across the golf industry. The Spring 2027 internship also offers a unique opportunity to gain experience and assist with the 2027 PGA Championship from May 15 - May 24 at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco.
Responsibilities
Execute pre-tournament operations, such as tournament information collection, golf course marking, selecting hole locations, equipment set-up, and developing operational plansAdminister on-site responsibilities, such as player registration, starting, rules officiating, scoring, and awards presentationsExecute post-tournament responsibilities, including completing, organizing, and submitting tournament reports, distributing tournament results, and equipment tear-downEffectively communicate with host professional staff, junior golfers, parents, caddies, and spectatorsManage tournament equipment by transporting equipment to and from facilities, inventory reporting, and maintenanceProvide support to select Section and Foundation operations through various on-site responsibilitiesWork in-office with NTPGA staff on various projects during scheduled office days (2 office days per month)Requirements
Has or is pursuing a college degree (third or fourth-year students preferred)Has automobile access with willingness and ability to travel within the Dallas/Fort Worth MetroplexHas existing insurance (through school or parents)Exhibits ability to work and communicate effectively in a team-based environmentGeneral computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft Office, Smartphone Apps)Ability to work early morningsAbility to work outside in extreme weather and temperaturesAbility to lift objects up to 50 pounds, i.e. tents, tables, stakes, and championship signageAbility to safely operate a golf cartAbility to stand and move around on foot for extended periods of timeAbility to speak publiclyEffectively able to use and operate cell phones, tablets, and hand-held radiosNice-to-haves
