Position Overview Our Golf Course Maintenance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring our golf course is not only playable but also visually stunning. This position involves a variety of turf management tasks, including mowing, fertilizing, and irrigation, alongside landscape management to create an inviting environment for our members and guests. You will be responsible for executing both routine and specialized maintenance activities to maintain the high standards of our golf course.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain greens, fairways, tees, and roughs through mowing to ensure proper height and playability.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides following safety guidelines and agronomy plans.
• Water turf areas as needed, adjusting irrigation systems to promote optimal moisture levels.
• Monitor turf health, identifying and addressing issues like pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
• Safely operate and maintain powered equipment, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers.
• Uphold landscaping around the clubhouse through maintenance of flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees.
• Assist in the construction and upkeep of new features on the golf course, including greens and bunkers.
• Ensure daily tasks meet the club's quality and cleanliness standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Support fellow team members and take on additional tasks as directed by management.
• Maintain high professionalism in all interactions with members and staff.
• Comply with safety guidelines and promote safe working practices.
• Engage in personal and professional development, keeping up with required certifications.
• Attend daily briefings and contribute actively to team discussions.
Requirements:
• Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Preferred: Previous experience in landscape management or groundskeeping is a plus.
Physical Demands:
Work is predominantly performed outdoors, with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions. Duties include lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, along with other physical tasks like climbing, squatting, and reaching.
Tools and Equipment:
• Construction and gardening tools (e.g., shovels, pruners, rakes).
• Powered equipment such as mowers and tractors.
Work Schedule:
Flexibility is key, as additional hours, including weekends and holidays, may be necessary to fulfill your responsibilities.
