DEFINITION: Seasonal golf course maintenance worker. Receives direction from and reports to Golf Course Superintendent & Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Employees will carry out the daily mowing and setup tasks which are vital to course operations.
· Flexible schedule required, will work early mornings on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
· Work week will be 25-37.5 hours.
EQUIPMENT USED: Golf carts, hand tools, push mowers, power trap rake, tri-plex mowers, and limited specialty equipment.
JOB LOCATION: 95% of the duties will be performed at Eberhart-Petro Golf Course.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: 95% of the work will be performed outside in all types of climates
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Perform maintenance functions necessary for golf course operations.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
· Mowing greens, tees, approaches and surrounds
· Hand watering greens
· Changing hole locations
· String trimming
· Leaf and debris removal
· Emptying trash
· Maintaining sand bunkers
· Changing tee markers
· Filling divots
· Trimming sprinkler heads
· Filling water jugs
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to work with the public and co-workers
· Good written and verbal skills
· Golf and golf course operations
· Some mechanical aptitude
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
· Must be at least 18 years of age
