Food & Beverage Supervisor
Chatham Hills is an exclusive Residential and Pete Dye Golf Course Community in Westfield, Indiana. Job Description
The Food and Beverage Supervisor (FBS) oversees all aspects of Chats and the Pool operation, including hiring staff, training, setup, service, breakdown, cleanliness, equipment, furnishings, and ordering of service-related food and service supplies. The Food and Beverage Supervisor coordinates with the kitchen staff to maintain smooth, efficient, and pleasant service at all times. One must have a thorough understanding of restaurant operations and provide both leadership and strategic direction within the restaurant.
General Duties
Assist Leadership Team - it is the responsibility of the Food and Beverage Supervisor (FBS) to resolve any member issues. FBS is also sometimes responsible for closing out and posting end of the day. Assisting with opening/closing of the club/dining outlets.
Train New Employees. The FBS is responsible for training new service staff in the standard operating procedures of the establishment of the dining outlets. This includes establishing sanitation and safety expectations. The FBS uses his or her knowledge of menus and bar lists to help new staff with any questions about dishes and describe them to members.
Assist with management of the dining outlets- If a member has an issue with the food or service, the FBS may take over and try to correct the situation. They are responsible for ensuring exceptional member service
Opening/Closing Procedures and Checklist- Ensure all checklists for opening/closing in all dining outlets are up to date, changing based on season and new processes. FBS sometimes will be responsible for closing down the clubhouse
Inventory Control- The FBS is responsible for watching inventory levels and notifying leadership to order products, and helping with placing orders. The FBS is responsible for monthly inventory counting of the dining outlets.
Scheduling- The FBS will work alongside the Food and Beverage Manager to create weekly staff schedules.
Menu Creation- The FBS will work with the culinary team to create new menus, and specials.
Dining and Seating Preparation- The job of the FBS starts before the first member walks through the door of any of the dining outlets. He or she is responsible for making sure the dining outlets are completely set up and ready for service before they open.
Alcohol Program- Assist the Food and Beverage Manager with ordering alcohol and ensuring that it is properly put away when it arrives.
Hours - 40+ hours a week (not limited to), being able to work weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays - Being Flexible
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building and motivation.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure gracefully.
Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions.
Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, menu items, and wine selection.
Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Certification in food safety and alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe) is preferred.
