About the Role
Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and play a vital role in maintaining a pristine, challenging, and beautiful golf course. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the overall health and aesthetics of the course. You will assist in overseeing daily landscape maintenance, ensuring high standards of turf quality, tree care, irrigation, and general groundskeeping. Your leadership will help create an exceptional experience for golfers while developing your skills in horticulture and turf management.
Responsibilities
• Assist in managing daily landscape maintenance activities, including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aeration, and pest control to ensure optimal turf health.
• Support irrigation system operations, troubleshooting issues and scheduling watering to promote healthy growth.
• Supervise and coordinate landscaping projects such as bunker renovations, pathway installations, or planting beds to enhance course aesthetics.
• Oversee tree care practices including pruning, removal, and health assessments to maintain safety and beauty.
• Lead and supervise team members in lawn care, gardening, and general maintenance tasks while fostering a positive work environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of the course to identify areas needing repair or improvement and implement appropriate solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
Skills
• Strong background in landscape maintenance, landscaping, and horticulture with a passion for golf course aesthetics.
• Proven supervising experience with leadership skills that motivate teams toward excellence.
• Knowledge of lawn care techniques including fertilization, aeration, pest management, and turf renovation.
• Experience with construction projects related to course improvements or infrastructure upgrades.
• Familiarity with tree care practices such as pruning, disease management, and removal procedures.
• Competence in irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and scheduling for optimal water use.
• Ability to perform general gardening tasks with attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
