Description Lifeguard/Swim Instructor The lifeguard/swim instructor is responsible for the prevention of accidents as well as the minimization and elimination of hazardous conditions in all Aquatics areas. In addition, the Lifeguard/Swim Instructor will demonstrate competency to teach and lead specific skills and activities in the water. - Must possess CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer Certification - Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility. - Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. - Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Qualifications - 16 years of age or older - Previous guest service experience preferred - CPR and First Aid certification preferred - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities - Highly responsible & reliable - Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times - Flexible availability including days, evening, weekends and summer holidays. - Must be able to climb stairs and carrying items weighing 25 - 50 pounds. - Good communication is important, as is being able to follow directions efficiently and meeting the physical demands of the job. - Must be able to clearly communicate Member needs to other Staff Members. - A positive attitude while on the job is also essential.
