Banquet Server
The Banquet Server performs food and drink serving duties at dinners and special events while interacting with members and their guests in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Set up for events by putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement and setting up a buffetAble to read and understand BEO'sCarrying plates of food on trays and serving guestsKeep glasses filled; remove each round of plates and replenish utensilsPerform cleaning tasks and breakdown of serviceMaintain a high standard of safety and cleanlinessAdhere to grooming and appearance standardsFrequently walking with some standing at a time, possibly extended distances; ability to bend and climb stairs when necessaryAbility to perform work duties on different walking surfaces (ex. Grass, Cement, Stone, Tile, Carpet)Frequently lift/carry up to 25lbs. Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.Ability to reach with hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedlySet up banquet room as requested by the supervisor to include glassware, silverware, linen, tables, chairsQuickly remove dishes as guests finish each meal at the end of each meal functionServe food and beverage in the appropriate order and in tune with the expectations of the supervisor as to ensure consistency throughout the banquetAbide by all laws pertaining to serving alcoholic beveragesWine and food knowledgeReport to shifts prepared and on time
Expectations
Always conduct oneself in a professional manner to reflect the high standards of the Big Canyon Country ClubRespond and provide aid if you are properly trained in medical or other emergenciesAbility to multi-task in a faced paced, high pressure environmentWill be expected to perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Prior club or hospitality experience preferred1-2+ years of food industry positions such as bussing, expediting, hosting, & serving with preference for experience in fine dining restaurant settingsBeginner knowledge of food and beverage preparation, guest relations, service styles, and etiquette such as appropriate table settings, the order of service, & wine serviceMust have be able to quickly learn and adapt to our POS SystemMust be available to work holidays, weekends and day shiftsAbility to perform physical job duties such as carrying plates, moving small furniture, & carrying a full server trayFood Handler's Card Ability to be on one’s feet for long periods of timeAbility to bend, reach, stoop when necessary
