Golf Course Irrigation Technician Location: Harbor Lakes Golf Club, Granbury, TX Employment: Full‑time, hourly Position Overview Ensure Harbor Lakes’ irrigation system runs efficiently and reliably to support top-tier turf conditions across greens, tees, fairways, and landscapes. Responsibilities Irrigation Operations Program, monitor, and adjust the Toro NSN(or similar) central control system for optimal water distribution Inspect, maintain, and repair sprinkler heads, valves, piping (2″–12″), pumps, sensors, field controllers, smart hubs, and wire splice. Conduct daily system audits to verify coverage uniformity and identify leaks, clogs, or low-pressure zones. Perform hand-watering and emergency irrigation tasks during drought periods. Troubleshooting & Repairs Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in wires, controllers, pump stations, and satellite stations. Replace or repair broken heads, lateral lines, zone valves, and wiring; clean drains and maintain flow integrity. Installation & System Upgrades Assist with irrigation infrastructure installations, expansions, and renovation projects. Support seasonal tasks: spring startup, winterization, and controller programming. Record-Keeping & Inventory Log all maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and water usage metrics. Manage the inventory of parts and supplies; initiate purchase orders as needed. Safety & Guest Interaction Maintain safe work practices, follow PPE protocols, and promote a safety-first culture. Greet golfers courteously, yield right-of-way, and ensure minimal disruption during maintenance. Departmental Support Coordinate with the Golf Course Superintendent and agronomy staff for watering needs, pesticide re-entry intervals, and event setups. Assist with general course setup: mowing flags, cups, and grounds tasks when needed. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or turf‑related coursework preferred. Experience: 1–3 years in golf course or landscape irrigation; familiarity with Toro Lynx (or equivalent) central systems strongly preferred. Skills: Proficient in pipe fittings, electrical wiring, controller programming, and use of tools (trencher, multimeter, wire locator). Ability to interpret water meter readings and turf irrigation requirements. Certifications & Equipment: Valid driver’s license. Experience operating utility vehicles and light maintenance equipment. Traits: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions including early mornings and weekends.
