Salary $15.58 /hour Location Parker, AZ Job Type Part-time, Non-Exempt Onsite – In-person Organization La Paz County Department Emerald Canyon Golf Course JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary: Under the indirect supervision of the Groundskeeper Foreman, the Groundskeeper I position is responsible for general maintenance of the golf course. Essential Job Functions: General maintenance of the golf course. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for trimming trees, weed eating around trees, bunkers and cart paths.Responsible for mowing fairways, greens, tees and driving range with riding and “walk behind” mowers.Responsible for edging, raking and maintaining sand bunkers.Responsible for picking up grass piles.Responsible for checking fluid levels before operating any machine.Responsible for reporting any abnormalities discovered while operating machinery to supervisor.Responsible for returning all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; wash equipment at the end of each day.Responsible for blowing cart paths with backpack blowers or riding blowers.Responsible for servicing golf course by changing green flags, putting cups, moving rope and barricades and moving tee markers.Responsible for changing hole locations dailyClean restrooms and breakroom.Operate large mowers, tractors and other light equipment in a safe and efficient manner.Operate turf-vac, backhoe, fairway and green aerifier and boom sprayer.Fill divot bottles with divot mix.Apply divot mix to driving range tee and other tees on the golf course.Lay sod as required.High School diploma or GED Certificate Required Knowledge, Skill & Ability: Familiar with tractors, back hoes and tri-ply mowersMust be able to work early and late shifts, weekends and holidays.Must be able to work outside exposed to extreme hot and cold temperaturesMust be willing to submit to a drug test, if requested.Work well with others and take directions.Ability to be deployed to remote areas of the CountyWork in adverse conditions for extended periods of timeMust be able to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, up to 10-20 lbs. constantlyPeriodically or routinely lift heavy items up to 50 lbs. and carry long distances up to 20 feetBend or stoop repeatedly or continually over timeWalk over rough, uneven, or rocky surfacesRemain in a standing position for extended periods of time Preferred Knowledge, Skill & Ability: Two (2) years’ work experience at a golf course or park Supplemental Information Starting Salary: 15.58/hour (competitive salary based on qualifications) Working for La Paz County offers more than just a career—it’s a chance to make a difference in your community.
