Summary We are on the lookout for Golf Course Maintenance Team Members to enhance our dedicated greens team at Midland Country Club to help maintain our award-worthy 18-hole championship golf course and 9-hole par-3 course. Our oasis in the desert features a classic Ralph Plummer-designed layout across 350 acres—demanding top-tier conditioning to deliver an exceptional experience for our members and guests. In this role you will perform routine and specialized maintenance tasks to ensure the golf course remains in pristine, playable condition year-round. Responsibilities This outdoor role involves hands-on work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the overall beauty and playability of Midland Country Club's championship facilities in the challenging West Texas climate. • Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, approaches, and other turf areas using specialized golf course equipment (walk-behind and riding mowers, reel mowers). • Rake and maintain sand bunkers to proper depth, shape, and consistency. • Hand-water, spot-irrigate, or assist with irrigation system checks and minor repairs to promote healthy turf growth. • Perform cultural practices including aerification, topdressing, verticutting, and fertilization as directed. • Edge cart paths, bunkers, and other features for a polished appearance. • Remove debris, litter, and course markings; reset flags, cups, and tee markers daily. • Assist with equipment maintenance (cleaning, fueling, washing equipment). • Operate tractors, utility vehicles, loaders, and other grounds equipment safely. • Support special course improvement projects. • Work as part of a team to complete daily setup and ensure the course is ready for member play and events. Requirements • Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping preferred (entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply). • Valid driver's license and ability to operate motorized equipment safely. • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, wind, and occasional cold (West Texas desert environment). • Physical stamina for lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, walking/standing for extended periods, and repetitive tasks. • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety • Positive attitude and team-player mindset—enjoy contributing to a premier private club environment.
