About the Role
SUMMARY
Provide exceptional and timely refreshment service with an outgoing and friendly personality to all members and guests golfing at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Providing timely refreshment/snack service to every golfer by seeing them once every four holes or once an hour
• Service every customer with an outgoing and friendly attitude
• Responsible for working in other areas of beverage cart domain including the Afternine and the Stationary Cart
• Grill food properly and basic food service while meeting food safety standards
• Follow state laws regarding alcohol service and consumption
• Mix alcoholic beverages properly with proper balance of alcohol and mixer
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of own area
• Carry a radio and have it on appropriate volume levels at all times. Appropriate dialogue and language is required.
• Adhere to all golf course rules and etiquette and follow the cart paths as described in on-the-job training
• Responsible for running each and every course that has golfers regardless if they are listed in the computer has having tee-times in advance. This includes walk-on golfers in the evening hours.
• Keep accurate records of all inventory related products
• Assume full responsibility of your cash, bank, cash drops, member billing, room charge, and other financial transactions
• Obtain and safeguard any keys that you may need for your assigned duties
• Getting “daily sheet” in order to be prepared for your shift by knowing how busy your course is, if you have any groups and/or master bills, and if you have special requests from food & beverage dept. or golf department that you need to fulfill
• Maintain strong lines of communication with the Pro-Shop to be aware of any events taking place or special requests
• Complete assigned paperwork
• Order food and beverage to par levels or as business levels deem necessary
• Date and wrap food
• Load beverage cart to par levels with exact amount of required beverages before, during, and after every shift
• Clean beverage cart after each shift
• Take beverage cart in for maintenance and report any safety issues as required by Fleet Maintenance
• Organizing/cleaning Nordic Center
• Keep waste and spoilage to a minimum by proper rotation, storage, and usage of all food items
• Follow all Resort health and safety policies and procedures
• Follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook
• Maintain open line of communication with supervisor and team members
• Attend all mandatory meetings
• Required to work weekends and Holidays
• Complete all assignments requested of you
• Understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
• Complete other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Must be 18 years of age or older, as required by law
• Required to pass a Beverage Cart driving test
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Perform math skills and demonstrate quick thinking.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk
• Must lift a minimum of 20 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
• Shifts are regularly 8 – 14 hours in length
• During the spring and fall, overtime is typically mandatory
• Due to seasonal requirements, all time off requests are approved by manager only.
• Regularly work in inclement weather

Employee is required to make change and safely operate a motorized cart
WORKING CONDITIONS
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Position generally works outside during a variety of weather including, but not limited to, extreme heat and cold, bright sun, rain and/or snow or sleet.
