Are you interested in working outdoors in beautiful Colorado? Foothills Golf Course is seeking candidates to join our golf course maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining excellent playing conditions on a daily basis for the golfing public. Experience is preferred but not required. On the job training is provided. Typical Schedule during the busy summer golf season is Monday thru Friday 5:00 am to 1:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday 5:00 am to 7:30 am on a rotating basis.
Job Duties:
Maintain all areas of the golf course. Including but not limited to: greens, tees, fairways, roughs, clubhouse grounds and driving range area.
Mowing of turf areas, bunker raking and edging, topdressing of greens and tees, tree, shrub and flower planting and maintenance, course set up and other grounds related maintenance tasks.
Operate various gasoline and diesel power equipment including: tractors, large and small mowers, bunker rakes, weed eaters, blowers and both powered and manual hand tools and other grounds maintenance tools and equipment as needed.
Operate blower to clean sidewalks, collect trash and perform general grounds cleaning.
Perform pre operation inspection on all equipment operated, Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance of equipment as directed by the Equipment Maintenance Staff. Communicate any equipment deficiencies and problems to the Equipment Maintenance Staff.
Assist with maintenance center cleanup and organization.
Maintain and repair sprinkler/drainage systems as assigned.
Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.
Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
Correct or inform supervisor of any hazards; communicate issues or complaints to supervisor as needed.
Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.
Weekend work is required on a rotating basis determined by the Assistant Superintendent and Golf Course Superintendent.
Experience and Skills
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at time of application.
Ability to move / lift 75 lbs.
Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Certain individuals may be asked to drive District vehicles, in those cases the employee must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.
Greenskeeper I: $17.50/hour
No previous experience required. Training available.
Greenskeeper II: $18.25/hour
One (1) year seasonal experience including performance of all basic golf course maintenance activities.
