About the Role
About Hazeltine National Golf Club
“A golf club rich in tradition, dedicated to hosting championship golf and delivering exceptional experiences.”
Chaska, MN | The club offers unrestricted access to its world-class facilities for members who are passionate about golf, fostering a community where the game is more than a sport; it’s a way of life. With strong ties to key golf organizations such as the PGA of America, the USGA, and the PGA Tour, Hazeltine continues to be a leader in the golf industry.
The name “Hazeltine” is synonymous with championship golf. Since 1962, Hazeltine National Golf Club has been one of the country’s premier sites for championship golf, hosting numerous championships for the PGA of America and the USGA. Most recently, it hosted the 2016 Ryder Cup Matches, the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and the 2024 United States Amateur Championship. The club is excited to host the KPMG Women's PGA again in 2026 and will become the first club in the United States to play host to the Ryder Cup for a second time in 2029.
Located on 350 acres southwest of Minneapolis in Chaska, Minnesota, Hazeltine is a private golf and social destination with a rich heritage that is all about golf. The mission of the founders of Hazeltine was to build and maintain a golf course suitable for national championships and develop a membership that supported this concept and who are committed to the game.
The 18-hole Robert Trent Jones design golf course is a par 72 that measures 7,700 yards and hosts approximately 20,000-22,000 rounds annually. This long and demanding layout has tested the best players in golf. Over time, Jones had modified many holes to adapt them to the needs of major championship play. In advance of the 1991 U.S. Open Championship, Rees Jones led significant updates to the design. Today, David Love III and Love Golf Design serve as the Architect of Record, continuing to guide improvements that uphold the Club’s competitive standard and architectural heritage. The golf practice facility, recently named one of the Top 50 Private Golf Range Facilities by Golf Range Association of America, is comprised of nearly 1.7 acres and includes a 2-sided range, short game facility, and two putting greens.
The Club’s 49,000 square-foot clubhouse was built and opened in 2010. It features a modern design with multiple dining areas, a bar, and a three-season porch. The dining and meeting areas include the Member Dining Room, a private dining room, the Main Ballroom, the Gallery, a Boardroom, and a small event room.
Hazeltine recently completed significant new capital assets as part of its VISION 2040 Long Range Plan, including a 10-hole short course, a putting course, six villas, a golf performance center, and an enhanced security entrance and parking facility. The club has also recently approved the construction of two additional villas.
