About the Role
Overview
We are building the most comprehensive global database of golf tournaments—and we’re looking for someone to own it.
The Golf Tournament Database Manager will be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and improving a structured database of amateur and competitive golf events worldwide. This is a data-first role that requires both technical execution and a strong understanding of how golf tournaments operate.
You’ll work at the intersection of data, product, and the game itself—ensuring our platform is the most accurate, complete, and trusted source for tournament information.
Key Responsibilities
Database Ownership & Accuracy
Own the integrity and accuracy of the golf tournament database
Maintain up-to-date tournament details including dates, locations, formats, eligibility, and registration links
Continuously audit and improve existing data for consistency and completeness
Database Growth & Coverage
Identify, research, and add new tournaments across global markets
Expand coverage across amateur, collegiate, junior, and elite events
Build processes to systematically grow the database over time
Tournament Intelligence
Develop a working understanding of tournament structures (stroke play, match play, qualifiers, exemptions, etc.)
Track schedule changes, announcements, and updates across governing bodies and tours
Ensure listings reflect real-world tournament timelines and nuances
AI-Driven Workflows
Use AI tools (Caude Code, ChatGPT, automation tools, scraping workflows, etc.) to scale data collection and updates
Build repeatable systems to improve speed and efficiency
Continuously identify opportunities to automate manual processes
Platform & Content Integration
Manage and update tournament listings within the CMS
Standardize formatting, naming conventions, and descriptions
Collaborate with product and editorial to improve how data is displayed and used
Qualifications
Technical & Data Skills
Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, or structured data systems
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Comfortable learning and using AI tools to enhance workflows
Ability to manage large datasets and prioritize updates efficiently
Golf Knowledge (Strong Plus)
Understanding of competitive golf and tournament formats
Familiarity with amateur golf ecosystem (USGA, state/regional events, college golf, etc.)
Personal interest or experience in golf is highly valued
