EVENT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY
The Event Manager reports to the Clubhouse Manager and General Manager. This “take charge” individual exhibits a strong emphasis on event management and service standards. The Event Manager also assists with all food and Beverage operations during member dining hours when needed. It is expected that this person brings a hands-on approach and a team player attitude to the position.
EVENT MANAGER JOB DUTIES
· Respond promptly to all function inquiries.
· Create, send, and receive back all signed contracts with appropriate deposits.
· Coordinate all food & beverage selections, room setup and other event details with primary event contact(s).
· Prepare all Banquet Event Orders for distribution to appropriate parties within the Management Team, i.e., Food and Beverage, Culinary team, General Manager, Controller/Accounting, Golf, Tennis, and Grounds (When Necessary) in a timely fashion.
· Generate a floor plan for each function, supervise and assist in the setup and breakdown of all events.
· Execute function event from start to finish, acting as primary contact for members and guests, ensuring that contacts' expectations are met and exceeded.
· Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure proper timing of food service.
· Work with scheduling manager to schedule and conduct all events in a correct manner
· Working with our accounting office invoicing events and assisting in collecting payments when necessary.
· Coordinate and help execute all golf outings, both Member and Non-Member.
· Attend Weekly F&B Manager’s meetings. Distribute & Review upcoming events
· Complete any other duties or projects assigned by the Clubhouse Manager, GM, or Controller.
· Create custom menus upon request from the contact.
· Work with Clubhouse Manager and food and beverage team in planning and executing club-wide events and tournaments.
· Work with the Executive Chef, Restaurant Management to determine selling prices, menus, and other details for catered events.
DINING ROOM RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with Clubhouse manager and the Food and Beverage Team to ensure all staff are providing Members with the proper steps of service.
· Opening and closing the building when warranted.
· Expedite food in the kitchen when needed.
· Ensure that all club policies are being adhered to.
· Assist in managing the floor when needed or required.
· Is knowledgeable of and abides by the employment policies and procedures of the Club as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
· Assist Clubhouse manager and Restaurant Management on the hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, scheduling, supervising, and disciplining of FOH team members.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
· Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
· Must be able to interact with the Management team professionally and effectively, other department heads, employees, vendors, members, and guests.
· Exceptional organizational skills.
· A polished & professional appearance at all times.
· Keen attention to detail.
· Minimum of 2+ year related experience in Events, preferably in a Club setting.
· A degree in the Hospitality field preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
· Technical literacy, including use of Outlook, Excel, Word and point of sale systems.
COMPENSATION
This is a salaried, year-round position that requires a flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, 401k plan after one year, CMAA membership and one BMI paid for a year, including lodging and travel, Christmas bonus, potential year-end bonus, paid vacation and professional development allowance. Salary is highly competitive and based on experience.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
