About the Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and overall management of our historic golf course. In this role, you will oversee all groundskeeping activities, ensuring the course and clubhouse grounds remain in quality condition and provides an exceptional experience for customers. Your leadership will drive team performance, maintain high standards of turf health, landscape aesthetics, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the grounds crew in daily maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aeration, and irrigation management to ensure optimal turf health.
Oversee landscape maintenance and landscaping projects to enhance course aesthetics and functionality.
Manage irrigation systems, perform repairs, and implement watering schedules to promote healthy turf and plant growth.
Coordinate construction projects related to course improvements or infrastructure upgrades with contractors and internal teams.
Supervise crew management activities such as scheduling, training, safety protocols, and performance evaluations.
Identify plants, trees, and other landscape elements to ensure proper care and integration into the course environment.
Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently; utilize company vehicles for transportation around the course.
Maintain hardscape features such as pathways, bridges, and water features; oversee their upkeep and repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations related to groundskeeping operations.
Support overall grounds maintenance by performing gardening tasks, tree care, pest control measures, and general landscaping duties as needed.
Experience
Proven supervising experience in turfgrass or landscape maintenance roles within golf courses or similar outdoor environments.
Extensive outdoor work experience with grounds maintenance equipment operation including mowers, trimmers, aerators, irrigation systems, and hardscape tools.
Strong knowledge of lawn care practices, horticulture principles, plant identification, tree care techniques, and landscaping best practices.
Construction experience related to golf course development or renovation projects is highly desirable.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Familiarity with construction standards and safety regulations related to outdoor projects.
Ability to operate a variety of groundskeeping machinery safely; experience with company vehicle operation is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of course maintenance.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
