About the Role
Our client, a premier golf resort located in **Phoenix, Arizona, US**, is seeking an experienced and charismatic Head Golf Professional to lead their golf operations. This role is pivotal in creating an exceptional experience for members and guests, managing all facets of the club's golf program. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for the game, outstanding customer service skills, and strong leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities: Oversee all day-to-day golf operations, including tee time management, tournament coordination, and daily play. Provide high-quality golf instruction and coaching to players of all skill levels, including individual lessons, clinics, and junior programs. Manage and direct the activities of the golf shop staff, including assistants and starters. Develop and execute creative marketing and promotional strategies to increase golf revenue and engagement. Manage inventory and sales for the golf shop, ensuring a well-curated selection of merchandise. Develop and manage the annual golf budget, monitoring expenses and revenue streams. Ensure the course and practice facilities are maintained to the highest standards, coordinating with the grounds crew. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all golfers. Organize and execute successful golf tournaments, events, and member activities. Maintain professional relationships with PGA of America and other relevant golf organizations. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in golf operations and instruction.
Qualifications: PGA Professional certification or equivalent (e.g., LPGA). Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf operations management, with at least 2 years in a Head Professional role. Proven experience in providing effective golf instruction and player development. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Strong organizational and event planning abilities. Experience with golf course POS systems and tournament software. Knowledge of golf club fitting and repair is a plus. Passion for the game of golf and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of the sport.
