About Montclair Golf Club
Founded in 1893, Montclair Golf Club is one of the oldest and most respected private clubs in the nation. With 36 holes of championship golf, world-class dining, and a robust calendar of member events, Montclair offers a premier experience to its membership. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Food & Beverage Manager to help lead and elevate our service standards across all dining and event venues.
Position Overview
The Food & Beverage Manager plays a key leadership role in delivering the exceptional member experience that Montclair Golf Club is known for. This hands-on position oversees all Front-of-House operations across the Club's dining outlets, event spaces, and seasonal venues.
Working closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, the F&B Manager will uphold and implement service standards, manage staffing and training, and ensure that every interaction reflects the club's commitment to excellence. This role requires strong attention to detail, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to lead and inspire a high-performing service team.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day FOH operations including dining rooms, bar/lounge, terrace and banquet/event serviceCollaborate with the Events Manager to plan and execute private events and club functionsImplement and uphold club service standards and operating proceduresSupervise and develop service staff through coaching, training, and daily pre-shift meetingsCreate and manage staff schedules in alignment with service levels and labor goalsServe as Manager-on-Duty during key service periods and special eventsEnsure all service areas are clean, organized, and guest-ready at all timesSupport BEO execution and coordinate logistics with kitchen and events teamProcess payroll and maintain accurate labor reportingAssist in hiring, onboarding, and ongoing staff trainingOpen and close dining facilities according to club protocolsWork collaboratively with the Executive Chef and other department heads to ensure a seamless member experienceCandidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a polished and professional hospitality leader with a strong service mindset and proven leadership skills. They are detail-oriented, forward-thinking, and able to foster a culture of excellence among their team. A genuine passion for private club hospitality and member engagement is essential.
Qualifications
4-6 years of food & beverage management experience; private club or upscale resort experience preferredStrong knowledge of a la carte and banquet service operationsAbility to manage staffing, labor costs, and department budgetsProficient in Microsoft Office; experience with POS and club management systems (Jonas/ClubEssential) is a plusExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsStrong understanding of service etiquette and guest relationsProven ability to train and develop service teamsPhysical Requirements & Work Conditions
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, including extended hours during peak seasonsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.Comfortable working in fast-paced, hot, and occasionally outdoor environmentsLeadership & Compliance Responsibilities

Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferredCMAA participation or certification strongly desiredServSafe and/or responsible alcohol service certification a plusCompensation & Benefits
