About the Role

ABOUT US

West Palm Beach, FL | In the late 1940s, Dick Wilson was selected by the city of West Palm Beach to design a golf course. Wilson sculpted a uniquely rolling 18-hole layout that was soon hosting the West Palm Beach Open Invitational generating a celebrity list of winners including Arnold Palmer, Gardner Dickinson, and Gay Brewer. In 2009, the golf course was renovated by ten-time PGA Tour Champion Mark McCumber, with the King himself, Arnold Palmer, hitting the first tee shot commemorating his 1959 victory.

Since then, the West Palm Beach Golf course had fallen into disrepair and was ultimately closed by the city in 2018. Resulting opportunities emerged to work with the city to reimagine the site, yet several proposals had come and gone, all involving various commercial elements. However, an inherently simple idea, discussed among a group of dedicated and influential local business leaders ignited a spark and yielded significant private financial support... "Create a world-class, non-profit operation dedicated to inclusivity, community outreach, and junior golfer development."

THE PLAN

The Park is the crown jewel of the city of West Palm Beach and treated as something to be of, and owned by, the community. It is our goal and expectation to leave the immediate neighborhood, the city, and the entire county better than before.

Community & Inclusivity

The Park ensures that everyone in the surrounding community feels welcome with access to the facility. The Park removes barriers for beginner golfers while challenging more skilled players. Walking is encouraged and embraced as part of the fabric of our culture and, as such, our caddie program is the focal point of the golf operation.

The Park “Gives Back” by having an expansive Community Programming initiative, engaging nearby youth residents to learn about the benefits of golf while developing life skills. Our Operations, Golf Academy, Culinary experience, and Agronomy will all play a role in supporting the Community Programming of The Park.

Junior Golf

Junior golf programs at The Park introduces juniors to the game of golf and allow them to enjoy an upscale daily fee golf experience. The Park supports and promotes competitive junior golf by permitting access to the facilities for local school golf teams. Junior golf plays an integral role in the Community Programming at The Park by providing a PGA Coaching structure to impact local youth.
