About the Role
Location: Rio Verde, 20 minutes north of Scottsdale, Arizona
Pay: $60,000–$65,000 per year

Position Overview
As a member of the Golf Operations Team, the Head Golf Professional is responsible for the daily operations of the Golf Shop staff and Guest Services staff, coordinating with the Director of Golf to provide first‑class service for guests, meeting or exceeding established standards for employee and guest satisfaction, and ensuring sales and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG).
Support the Director of Golf and operations team in planning capital projects and annual budget.
Maintain effective communication among all team members regarding course operations and HR issues; recognize and celebrate successes and mentor staff development.
Meet with staff to develop a common vision and encourage engagement with current initiatives.
Oversee all tournament operations.
Help establish operating procedures and goals and support the budget creation process.
Monitor the budget to assure revenues and expenses meet departmental financial goals.
Work with the management team to implement innovative products and programs that exceed market expectations and keep the Club ahead of competition.
Interview, hire, supervise, and coach staff; provide performance appraisals, disciplinary actions if needed, and suggestions for succession planning.
Create staff schedule, assign tasks, and sometimes perform activities of supervised workers.
Train and develop team members in golf operations, tournament organization and execution, merchandising, and proper check‑in procedures.
Guide apprentices in pursuing Class A Membership and BSRG certifications.
Provide teaching support to the Head of Instruction as needed.
Respond to inquiries and concerns from guests, regulatory agencies, or community members.
Support the budget creation process and monitor the budget to assure revenues and expenses meet departmental financial goals.
Assist in establishing and managing purchase order programs, department checkbooks, contribution reports, and budgets for all golf course operations.
Review weekly and monthly contribution reports for each operation.
Attend exhibitions, buying shows, tournaments, and educational seminars to keep current with development in the golf industry.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Skills
PGA membership or actively obtaining it.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
Three to five years’ experience in a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification and other safety certifications as required.
Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Video analysis experience preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to calculate percentages and understand profit and loss statements.
Strong written communication skills; ability to write reports and procedure manuals.

Work Environment
Position generally operates in a professional indoor office and shop environment, with some exposure to outdoor weather conditions and native wildlife when on facility grounds or attending outdoor events. Routine use of standard office equipment and moderate noise levels.
Physical Demands
Must sit, stand, walk, use hands/arms to extend or reach; occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
