## Food & Beverage Server at Pete Dye River Course
Pete Dye River Course is seeking servers to join our team and provide food and beverage service to club members and guests. This is a part-time regular position offering a pay range of USD $12.77
- USD $14.00 per hour. You'll be involved in a variety of tasks including catering, events, golf tournaments, bar tending, and beverage cart service.
### What You'll Do
As a server here, you'll be responsible for setting up your side station and completing all assigned prep work before service begins. When members and guests arrive, you'll provide immediate attention upon seating, ensuring children are safely positioned in appropriate seating. You'll distribute food and wine menus, answer questions about our offerings, and fill glasses with ice water while suggesting menu items.
Your role involves efficiently serving food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offering suggestions on daily specials and wine selections. You'll place orders with the kitchen, making sure to communicate any special cooking instructions clearly to the cooks. When food is ready, you'll assemble it on trays, procuring items from each station as necessary, then serve meals by placing dishes course by course in front of each person.
Throughout service, you'll check back regularly to ensure member and guest satisfaction, replenishing water and butter as needed. Between courses, you'll remove soiled dishes, clear tables, and reset them with appropriate silverware. When it comes time for dessert, you'll present the dessert menu, suggest and serve desserts, coffee, and after-dinner drinks. You'll also verify the accuracy of prices, taxes, tips, and other charges on checks, present the bill, and handle all member charges and credit card transactions according to standard operating procedures.
Keeping the dining room and bus station areas clean is an ongoing responsibility, as is clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables that have been vacated. If any complaints arise, you'll advise your supervisor immediately. You'll perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by the manager and attend pre-meal meetings when requested. Finally, you'll thank members and guests, inviting them to return.
### Requirements and Qualifications
You'll need a Grade 12 education and the ability to read, write, and execute basic math skills. Two years of comparable wait service experience is preferred. Beyond these basics, you should be knowledgeable about our menu, buffet, and wine list, with the ability to time the service of each course properly. Learning members' names and their special preferences is an important part of building relationships here.
Knowledge of wines and spirits is essential, as you'll be making recommendations. You should also have knowledge of and be able to perform your required role during emergency situations.
### Licenses and Certifications
You must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages, hold a current food safety certification, and possess an alcoholic beverage certification. Consistently following local and state laws and the club's policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests is non-negotiable.
### Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires you to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and reach. You'll need to be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds, and the work involves continuous repetitive motions. You'll be working in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.
