About the Role
The Equipment Manager at Harbor Shores Golf Club is an integral part of the Agronomy Team. Working alongside the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistants, the Equipment Manager will be responsible for managing a preventative maintenance program through proactive management.
The focus of this job is on producing high-quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines, and procedures. The individual must exercise precise, consistent output, while also creatively thinking to provide solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the Superintendent or Assistant.
- Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies. Repair and adjust equipment as needed.
- Maintains a clean and well-organized shop and inventory of parts.
- Service all course maintenance equipment as necessary.
- Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
- Maintain service, repair, and usage records on all equipment.
- Establish safety procedures and maintain safety records for equipment operation.
- Order, catalog, and inventory parts to help reduce down time of equipment.
- Demonstrate to staff the use of new equipment and train in safe operation and proper care and maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Plan and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment.
- Perform general overhauls for equipment as needed.
- Assists in daily inspections of equipment and makes necessary adjustments in field as needed.

Working knowledge of turf equipment, grinding, repair and maintenance. Experience with the repairs and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines. Ability to troubleshoot issues with electrical and hydraulic systems.
