This is an excellent opportunity for a golf professional who is passionate about the game, enjoys working with members and guests, and is looking to grow within a private-club environment. The Assistant Golf Professional will work closely with the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf to provide an exceptional golf experience for our members while supporting the day-to-day operation of the Golf Shop, practice facilities, tournaments, and instructional programs. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise, train, and develop Golf Shop Assistants and Golf Outside Services staff that desire to grow.Monitor guest experiences and take appropriate actions to ensure outstanding customer service.Order merchandise for sale in the Golf Shop, in conjunction with the Head Professional.Process customer reservations for guests of the golf course.Assist in the coordinating of individual, group, and tournament play, as directed by the Head Professional.Work closely with the Starter to monitor all aspects of play, including starting, monitoring pace of play, safety on the course, and golf course markings.Assist in reconciliation of Accounts Receivable charges to daily register at the closing of each day.Monitor the upkeep of the Golf Shop, making sure it is kept neat and clean at all times.Responsible for monthly stock taking, receiving, and pricing merchandise.Maintain files, follow-up on delegated tasks, and manage time well.Maintain professional appearance and set example for all staff.Be active in Local section events, schedule permitting, with Head Professional approval.Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Professional and/or Director of Golf.EXPERIENCE:Two years of private club experience preferred.Experience running tournaments and golf events preferred.Experience teaching both one-on-one and group lessons.Strong knowledge of golf operations, rules, tournament administration, and member services.Friendly, professional, and approachable personality.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Availability to work weekends and holidays.Proficiency with golf shop, tee time, tournament, and POS technology.Passion for the game of golf and member engagement.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Hourly WageHoliday BonusGolf Shop Retail CommissionsFull Health BenefitsPaid Time Off (PTO)Clothing AllowancePGA Education ReimbursementsPGA DuesComplimentary Meal(s)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to bend, stoop, lift and/or carry items up to 25 lbs., or occasionally up to 50 lbs. with assistanceAbility to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of timeAbility to work indoors or outdoors, in many weather conditionsCommunicate verbally with staff members and/or customers, with or without the use of two-way radiosVisually inspect all work areas, golf course, and grounds
