Basic Job Function
Greet and assist guests and members with the selection and purchase of merchandise as well as providing the guest with needed information in person and by telephone. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Tasks/Responsibilities
Create a welcoming environment by greeting and approaching guests and members utilizing teamwork and collaborationExceeds customer expectations by providing assistance with a positive attitudeRecommends merchandise based on product knowledge and customer preferencesAccountable for the accurate processing of sales using numerous forms of paymentIs knowledgeable and educates self and others on merchandiseRemain informed of current trends and inventory statusMaintain the availability of merchandise in a clean and orderly fashionAssist in maintaining visual and merchandise presentation standards on the sales floorDemonstrates timely follow-up and follow-through on customer requestsWorks to develop long term customer relationshipsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAssist with quarterly inventory proceduresLearn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and MembersAccountable for the accurate processing of cash and charges transaction for merchandise and fees in the hotel Resort Suite POS (point-of-sales) system using guest/member cardsMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s abilityIf applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
Physical Requirements
Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsIf applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to 40 lbs repeatedly throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards
